Missions

Students in Grades 11-12 are encouraged to apply and participate on the Missions Team. Participating in the Missions Team includes becoming a leader in our KCS community, participating in all elements of preparation, and going on the Missions Trip during Spring Break, which takes place every other year.

Students carefully consider and apply for their place on the team. Around 16 students are chosen to join the team. Students selected for the team will participate in fundraising which may include recycling cans/bottles, poinsettia orders, Pizza Mondays, a Dessert Auction, and other fundraisers that take place from September to March.

During this preparation time students are also focusing on preparing mentally and spiritually for the trip. This includes group meetings, ministry planning, preparing hearts and minds for service, and visiting their "sponsor classes" in the elementary as their class "Missionary" for the year. Students are typically expected to raise half of the costs on their own, and the rest of the costs are fundraised as a team.

On the mission trip, students spend time learning about the Ministry they have partnered with and participate in various activities. These may include: building a house, praying over patients in a local hospital, street worship, and children's ministry. The mission trip is an amazing experience which opens our students' eyes to how God is at work in the world and how they can be a part of His plan.
